Speed comes with a tradeoff

Podracers emphasize exceptional speed while giving up safety and resilience. Their handling reference combines the image of a chariot with Formula 1, rather than making them just a larger landspeeder. High speed raises the cost of poor decisions, so the class is presented as a demanding form of racing, not a guaranteed beginner choice.

Skim speeders can build momentum to become the fastest speeder on a track, but that claim covers the speeder classes. It should not be turned into a statement that skims always outrun podracers. The regular speeder comparison and dedicated podracing comparison answer different questions.

No customizable podracer build

This restriction matters if workshop tuning is the feature that attracts you to Galactic Racer. Hibi’s parts and build choices apply to the game’s customizable craft, while podracing has its own rules. Do not spend extra on an edition because you expect an exclusive podracer or a customization system that is not included.

  • Podracers cannot be customized.
  • Deluxe’s exclusive craft are a bike, landspeeder and skim speeder, not a podracer.
  • A livery for your speeders should not be assumed to apply to a podracer.
  • There is no established optimal podracer parts build to copy.

Podracing is bigger than one familiar circuit

The story reveal shows podracers outside the Mos Espa Circuit. Tatooine remains one of the revealed destinations, but it is not the entire scope of the game’s racing world. Sebulba also appears in the story and can become a supporter after Shade earns his respect; that does not make him a confirmed freely selectable campaign character. For your first drive, choose the available Arcade event and learn its actual controls before relying on a build or unlock guide.
